Corbin's actions were, as predicted by every psychological model, entirely governed by his paternal protective instinct towards the ancillary asset (Sona, designation 'Keystone'). His attack on the Dún Brón facility was anticipated and used as the final catalyst.

He believes he has won. He believes he has rescued the girl. This is an acceptable, even optimal, outcome.
